ETYL is India's largest platform to identify tomorrow's corporate leaders. Launched in 2011, ETYL has seen participation from students of top B-schools aspiring to be the brightest future managers. In 2014, the competition was opened for B-school students in a customized form.

War of Wits sponsored by Colgate Palmolive is the flagship event of Ensemble, the Annual International Management Conclave of XLRI, Jamshedpur.

More than 100 teams participated in the competition which started with an online Quiz followed by a Case study. 8 teams made it to the final round and presented the case to the Jury from Colgate Palmolive at XLRI Jamshedpur. The Winners were-Team Lucky Ladies from SCMHRD and a team from MDI stood as runners up. The winning team was offered PPI from Colgate Palmolive and Cash Prize worth Rs 70,000.

On 21st September 2014, Amazon office in Hyderabad bustled with students from all over the country for the final face off of the ACE challenge 2014 finals.Three second-year students - Priyanka Mandalapu,Usha Bitla and Pratyhusha Akella of Team Hyderabad ke Nawaab denge Jawaab competed as finalists for the National Finalsof the ACE Challenge 2014 held by Amazon India. The team was one of the 18 teams who made it to the finals of ACE Challenge 2015 out of 3800 teams who participated across all categories and represented SCMHRD in the human resources category. The team thanks Amazon India for an amazing learning experience.

The 18 finalists were from top B-schools like FMS,IIM A, IIM B,TISS,XLRI,ISB etc.The competition had 6categories(sales,marketing,operations,HR etc). MBA First Year Students Prathamesh Sawant, Pooja Awate and Sonali Hotta of team Zoozoos won the first runners up position at AdAmbar competition at IIM Rohtak. The event was a part of the annual fest, Infusion 2014 and was designed to test participants on their creativity. It involved creating of advertisements for different rounds of the competition. The competition saw participation from colleges like MDI, FMS etc.

MBA First-Year students, Tejas Taori and Cherub Singhal won the runners up position at Mareechika, MICA Ahmedabad. They made a remake of the movie "Lage Raho Munna bhai" for the South African audience. The concept of having Nelson Mandela, substituting for Gandhiji and the connect established between him and Gandhiji was appreciated by the jury. Congratulations to both of them.

Students from the junior Marketing Batch, Animesh Anora and Kushal Parwani, emerged as runners up in Conundrum, a marketing management Event at SIMS Pune. The event had six rounds which comprised of an Online Quiz on logos, a subsequent Quiz on Mascots and companies, Taboo Marketing, Television Commercial Making, Wrong P's and finally a Political Marketing Strategy.

Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), one of India’s leading business schools, believes in empowering its students to be the leaders of tomorrow. This fact was once again proved when Neeraj Savant, a 2nd year MBA-Finance student at SCMHRD  made it to the Bloomberg Aptitude Test (BAT) November Hall Of Fame by ranking 5th across the Asia-Pacificregion. He has made the entire institute proud with his accomplishment.

The Bloomberg Aptitude Test is a two hour exam comprising of questions based on analytical reasoning. The exam witness’s participation from the best of universities across the globe and securing a position in its Hall of Fame is a proud moment for the student as well for us at SCMHRD.  Summy Kataria, Country Manager- University Relations at Bloomberg Institute has stated that analyzing the performance of the students over the past few sessions, she would like to conduct BAT every year at SCMHRD.

A conversation with the man of the hour gives a few glimpses into the Finance Program at the institute. As per Neeraj, “Here at SCMHRD, we are made industry-ready not just through a rigorous curriculum but also through encouragement to undertake global qualifications like the CFA, FRM, etc. A lot of importance is also placed on participation in competitions conducted nationally and also on a global platform.” The rigor of the Finance Program can be ascertained by the fact that SCMHRD is the 1^st Institute in India whose Finance course has been accepted in the CFA Institute University Recognition Program.

The course in Finance at SCMHRD prepares students for careers in Corporate Finance, Treasury Management, Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Risk Management, Insurance, Portfolio Management, etc. The institute does its best to provide those who want to learn with all the opportunities and guidance that they may need to become successful leaders.

The team from SCMHRD, 2 Parindey, secured the second place in the HR Event at SIIB. Chandan Kumar and Shashank Jha competed against teams from other B-schools and eventually ended as runners up in the HR event organised by SIIB.

SCMHRD team 'Babaji ke Thulle' won the first position in the competition - The Secret Formula, held during Intaglio, the annual Business fest of IIM Calcutta.The team, comprising of Harsh Tandon, Rishabh Singh and Ashish Singhal from the Marketing Batch of 2015, competed against teams from B-Schools across the country, in different rounds to win the competition. A total of 216 teams participated in the event sponsored by Hindustan Unilever. Different rounds of the event required the participants to strategise and solve the different marketing challenges faced by HUL. 6 teams were called on campus for the final round to be presented in front of representatives from HUL. The team from SCMHRD defeated teams from IIM-A, IIM-C, MDI amongst others to clinch the top position. The success is representative of the skills and the calibre of the students of the Marketing specialisation and the emphasis on experiential learning in academics. SCMHRD wishes the team the very best for future endeavours.

Senior students of SCMHRD, Vidhu Vaishnavi and Ashish Agrawal, secured the third place at Inquizzite, a business quiz organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry, CII. The quiz was focused on Human Resources and saw participation from B-schools as well as from young professionals. In the final round, the team from SCMHRD competed against teams from Boston Consulting Group and JP Morgan Chase amongst others. The finals were held in Mumbai on 1st of December with participation from B-Schools across India. Success at competitions held on such scale is a reflection of the quality of the student community at SCMHRD as well as the focus of the institute in creating the leaders of tomorrow.

Marketing students from SCMHRD, Mayank Agarwal and Ankush Kakroo of team Vosotros were declared as winners of Adverb - Indian Advertizing League at Paragana 2013 held at NMIMS. The competition comprised of four rounds held over a period of four consecutive weeks. Despite stiff competition from more than 1000 participants, the team emerged victorious in the marketing event.

SCMHRD students Abhimanyu Bhatia, Nikita Chaudhury and Himanshu Sikka, of team Eat Prey Love, were declared the national winners of Philips Blueprint 2013. The competition was held with the participation of 33 major business schools across the length and breadth of the country. The final round of the innovation-based competition was held at the Corporate Office of Philips in Gurgaon. The team from SCMHRD will be traveling to Amsterdam where they will present their idea to the Global Leadership of Philips.

SCMHRD students Shashank Jha, Vipul Khariwal and Robin Jain were declared as runners up in the event The Next Chanakya, at Confluence 2013. Held at IIM Ahmedabad, the event was an international level political strategy competition. After the first round results, the team from SCMHRD was in the top 6 teams despite the stiff competition from more than 200 teams from 100 B-schools across the country. Students of SCMHRD, Ms.Sravani Mellacheruvu and Ms.Priyanka Mandalapu won Kathan, a National level article writing competition organised by IIM Udaipur. The competition was organised by the HR club, dHRuva. The article submitted by them, 'Developing the next generation of corporate leaders' , was selected as one of the top ten articles in the competition and published in the human resource magazine, Kathan, of IIM Udaipur.

Two teams from SCMHRD were declared as runners up at XLRI Ensemble's War of Wits, which is the flagship Human Resource event of Ensemble.

Accenture’s War of Wits is organized in coordination with The Student's Association for Promotion of Personnel Management, Human Resources and Industrial Relations (SAPPHIRE).

The event had three rounds; first was an online HR quiz, second was an intensive case study round which had four different themes of HR – HR analytics, workforce diversity, social media and recognition programs and after making it through to the final round, one had to present the case to the Accenture dignitaries at XLRI. Competing against 9 teams from the top colleges in HR in the country like XLRI, SIBM, MDI and others, SCMHRD emerged victorious by bagging two positions.

First year students Chandan Kumar and Shashank Jha of team 2 Parindey emerged as the runners up of the flagship HR event of Imperium 2013 held at MDI Gurgaon. The event comprised of an online round where teams across the country competed against each other. The on-campus event comprised of different rounds such as simulations, case study analysis, audio-video quiz amongst others. After four gruelling rounds the team from SCMHRD emerged as first runners up and won cash prizes and vouchers.

Students of SCMHRD, Bhavik Dave and Prit Thaker won the first prize in a case study competition on reckoning the business dilemma of pharma giants where a case for generic launch was given in anti-diabetics category. The case study, given by Lupin Ltd, was aimed at analysing the potential market and break even in number of years for the subject company to recover the investment made in the patented molecule. The event was organised on 17th November 2013 and the students won the national competition having the prize money of Rs 50,000 in cash and vouchers worth Rs 25,000.

Dhruv Desai, Nidhi Jain, Nidhi Chaturvedi and Neeraj Savant emerged as the campus winners of The Deal. The Deal is a national level investment banking case study competition. The case required participants to suggest a suitable target for Nestle with strategic rationale, deal value, synergy and deal structure.

ITC visited the campus for  Interrobang Season 3. The day promised to offer students a chance to Jam with the brightest HR minds from ITC at the campus. Mr Amitav Mukherjee and Mr PJ Anand engaged with students in two enriching sessions of InterroJamconcerning  “Performance Management Systems and   The Employee Engagement. It was followed by prize distribution to the winners of Interroquiz from Pune cluster. The session moved to the highlight of the day  Interrobang Case Study Competition. Here the finalist  teams from SCMHRD and SIBM clashed to prove their mettle in the field of HR management.  Energy filled performances and a healthy competition was seen by the participants and it was reflected by the students of SCMHRD.

SCMHRDians do it again!

The Answerrobang Team  from SCMHRD comprising of  Ashish Agarwal,Shweta Shankar, Mehak Syal and Sonam Agarwal  was declared winners of the ITC Interrobang case study challenge - Season 3. The team presented solution to the HR case study given by the ITC Ltd and the judgement was based on the research methodology,understanding of the case and the  feasibility of the solution. They were awarded prize money of Rs100000, Wills lifestyle gift vouchers and a pre-placement opportunity with ITC Ltd.

First year student of SCMHRD, Gaurav Rustagi and Vinayak Prabhu (Team - The Knights Out) were declared Runners up in "Secret Formula", the flagship event of Intaglio 2013, the International B School Summit of IIM Calcutta, held on 4th January 2013. The team from IIM Calcutta was declared as the winners.

The event comprised 3 rounds, one online round & 2 Case study based rounds. The finals were held at IIM Calcutta campus which included the Teams from IIM Calcutta, IIM Shillong, SP Jain Mumbai, and MDI Gurgaon along with SCMHRD. In finals, the challenge was to devise a Communication Strategy for Nokia C3 Mobile phone (considering the timeline of year 2009). The jury comprised Mr Surojit Sen, Director - Integrated Marketing, JWT Kolkata & Mr Ramendra Singh, Academics - Marketing, IIM Calcutta.
